Zaffar Akber addressed Kashmir session at Islamabad Pakistan, JKSM delegation visits Afzal Guru residence in Sopore

 9 Feb,Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffar Akber Bhatt addressed a Briefing Session on Kashmir title Perspective and Experience from Indian Occupied Kashmir” organized by Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies(IPDS) at Islamabad club Pakistan,

Zaffar said that I express my gratitude to institute of peace and diplomatic studies for inviting me as a guest speaker, Zaffar said Kashmir dispute, one of the oldest disputes on United Nations agenda remains a continuous threat to the peace and stability of not only South Asia but the entire world.” he said, Lacs of people have lost their lives since the start of this dispute in1947 and this phenomenon is still going on. the non-resolution of the dispute has also become the main reason of enormous sufferings of the people in Kashmir .said “Being the main cause of tension and the core issue between India and Pakistan this dispute has become the basic reason for a race of acquiring weapons and war machinery for both the countries,

He further added that since past seven decades armed forces in Jammu and Kashmir had carried out extrajudicial killings of civilians and suspected insurgents and during this period more than ten thousand disappeared during forces custody.

Zaffar  paid glowing tributes to Muhammad Afzal Guru on his 5th martyrdom anniversary, he said the sacrifices of guru for the just and rightful struggle were remarkable, unforgettable and etched in the minds of people.

On the directions of Zaffar Akber Bhatt a high level delegation comprised of Farooq Ahmed, Javaid Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad visited residence of Afzal Guru and expressed solidarity and sympathies with Guru family,

Salvation movement women's wing sec. Rukiya Bhaji led sit in protest at Srinagar  kashmir ,Bhaji louds contributions and sacrifices of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohamad Afzal Guru and demands to return the  mortal remains of both.

A heavy contingent of police arrested senior Salvation Movement leader's Gazi Javaid Baba, Mansoor Ahmad and  Idress bhat ahead of unified resistance leadership strike call, Spokesman strongly denounced arrests and termed it political vendetta.
