We’ll march to UN office, come what may’
Srinagar, February 06 : In Srinagar, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the march towards the office of United Nations Military Observers Group (UNMOG) at Sonawar in Srinagar will be conducted on Monday, come what may. Condemning the killing of Zahid Farooq of Brein Nishat by troopers, Mirwaiz said, “There is rule of jungle here. No one is safe here as troops have been given free hand to kill. Kids are being killed for playing cricket.”
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a media interview in Srinagar said, “We will march towards the UN office seeking international intervention on Kashmir as the people of Jammu and Kashmir are feeling insecure.” He deplored that Indian troops and police personnel were killing innocent people particularly the youth of the occupied territory. “Enough is enough. We can’t remain mute spectators,” he added.
The APHC Chairman, who remained under house for the third successive day on Saturday, said that the situation in occupied Kashmir was very terrible. He appealed the people to massively march towards the UN office, despite all odds. The authorities would be responsible for any untoward incident, he maintained and warned of 2008-like uprising in occupied Kashmir if the troops continued to kill innocent civilians.
Condemning the killing of another student, Zahid Farooq of Brein Nishat by the troops, the Mirwaiz said, “There is rule of jungle here and no one is safe, as troops have been given free hand to kill. Youth are being killed for playing cricket.”
The APHC Chairman also flayed the authorities for imposing curfew in the territory on Friday to prevent people from observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day as the Gratitude and Prayers Day. “Even people weren’t allowed to offer prayers at Jamia Masjid.
