Troops killed three including a young school student

Srinagar, July 04: Police and CRPF tortured and thrown into the river an 11-year old boy, Khalid Sharief Mir, three days ago during protest demonstrations whose body was recovered from river Jhelum triggered protests in Sopore town. 

Special Operations Group and troops of 21 Rashtriya Rifles killed 2 youth at Nagni and Tand Mohalla localities in Wedder Bala, in Zachaldara area of Handwara.

Two porters working with army were drowned into Kishan Ganga River near Gurez in Bandipora. Identified as Altaf Ahmad Khan, 20, son of o Jabbar Khan and Habibullah, 30 son of Akbar Khan, both residents of Angaikote, the deceased were working in construction of bridge. “Body of Altaf was recovered while the search was going on fish body of another porter,” he added.
 
Unidentified gunmen killed Abdul Majeed Genoo son of Ghulam Rasool Genoo resident of Tander Dachhan and injured a shopkeer Tariq Hussain Genoo son of Abdul Gaffar at Tander Dachhan at Tander village of Dachhan of Tehsil Marwah, in Kishtwar.

Police claimed arrested the district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Javid Kashmiri in Lasipora in Budgam.

10 people were injured in Islamabad town protesting against disappearance of the young man, Basharat Ahmad, in Indian Army custody on June 28.

10 people, including the cameraman of a local news channel, were injured when police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) used tear gas and batons to disperse protestors in Sopore town, Police and CRPF in Sopore opened fire on the funeral prayers of an 11-year old boy Khalid Sharief Mir whose body was recovered from river Jhelum. The local people said that he was tortured and thrown into the river by CRPF during an action against the protesters in the town three days back. Curfew continued in Baramulla and Sopore towns for the fifth consecutive day today.

Massive protests were also held here against the arrest and slapping of a teenager with PSA Adil, nephew of Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar,  in downtown.
