With Tariq’s death our world fell apart: Family

Baramulla, July 04: The family members of Tariq Ahmad Malik, the only breadwinner of the family who was killed in police firing, are shattered by his untimely death.

“For us the world has fallen apart,” said Tariq’s elderly father, Saifudin Malik with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Tariq, who was the only breadwinner of the family comprising his parents and three brothers and a sister, was shot in the abdomen. The bullet had pierced through his spinal cord and he succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

“The troopers killed my son in cold blood. They did not even show mercy for his innocence,” said Tariq’s tearful father.

With tears rolling down her cheeks, Tariq’s mother said, “He was my only child with whom I shared every secret. He would always come to me and ask me if I need anything. I had a lot of dreams about him and he was only one who could have made those dreams come true. But…” she pauses until she faints.

Tariq’s brothers said that their brother was the only hope of better future for the family. “He worked as a contractor to sustain us all. But now we have no one to fall back upon”, said his brother Tanveer Ahmad RK-
