Int’l bodies appealed to take notice of hr violations
Srinagar, Feb 08: In Srinagar, police raided and sealed the APHC headquarter at Rajbagh in Srinager and arrested APHC senior leader, Zaffar Akbar Bhat when he attempt to reach APHC headquarter to join the march to the United Nations Military Observers Group given by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq,

APHC had announced a March call towards UN office at Sonawar against the continued gross human rights violations and killing of teenaged boys by the Indian troops and police in Kashmir.

JKSM vice President, Altaf Ahmad Bhat and JKSM spokesman in their separate statements while strongly condemning the arrest of Party Chairman and senior APHC leader, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Abdul Rashid Untoo and Bilal Ahmad Siddiqui and raid on APHC headquarters in Srinagar said Kashmir had been turned into a military camp and Indian troops were killing innocent Kashmiris without any rhyme and reason.   They appealed to the international human rights organisations to take cognisance of stepped up human rights violations in Kashmir.

JKSM vice president also condemned the barbarian killing of two young students by men in uniform in Srinagar.

India was trying to muzzle the Kashmiris’ just voice for their right to self-determination through use of brute force. The police and paramilitary forces are committing the gross human rights violations in the territory with impunity. The brute tactics and arresting of Hurriyet leaders and activists being used by the authorities can not deter Kashmiris’ resolve to get freedom from Indian bondage, they maintained.

The statements urged the United Nations and its member countries to impress upon India to stop continued human rights violations in Kashmir by the men in uniform against the peaceful struggle of their birthright.
