No Strike on Friday :APHC

Srinagar, July 02: In Srinagar, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that there would be no strike on Friday and called for protests to show solidarity with the people of Shopian and Baramulla.

APHC in an extraordinary meeting at the residence of its chairman, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq in Srinagar said that the agitation programme should be formulated after mutual consultation to end the tendency towards anarchy and to prevent confusion among the masses. The meeting was chaired by the chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the others who attended meeting were Professor Abdul Ghani Bhat, Agha Syed Hassan Almoosvi, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Fazal Haq Queshi, Bilal Ghani Lone and Masroor Abass.

Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, calling upon Kashmiris to shun the politics of confusion as “anarchy appeared to be given currency in the state.”

The Hurriyat expressed concern at the dilatory tactics of the government of India and authorities here over the Shopian case, saying that “Kashmiris would stand like an impregnable wall to defend the honour of their womenfolk.”

“This issue will be taken to the international community with all possible means so that the guilty are identified and punished,” it said.
