KSC leader for result-oriented dialogue on Kashmir

Oslo, June 22 (KMS): The Executive Director of Kashmir Scandinavian Council (KSC), Sardar Ali Shahnawaz Khan has welcomed the meeting between the heads of India and Pakistan on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Russia hoping that it will create conducive atmosphere between the two countries to initiate dialogues on Kashmir dispute.

Sardar Ali Shahnawaz Khan, in a statement issued in Oslo, said that the focus of the engagement should be settlement of the dispute and authentic voices of Kashmir should be included in the parleys to maker it result oriented.

The KSC Executive Director termed the initiation of the dialogue between the two countries as a positive step in the direction of securing peace in South Asia. He said that India has always tried to suppress the voice of Kashmiri people by military might. He also urged the government of Pakistan to take notice of the gross human rights violations by the Indian troops in the occupied territory. “We hope that Pakistan will continue its support to Kashmiri people,” he added.

Demanding stern action against the culprits in the double rape and murder case in Shopian, Ali Shahnawaz said that the government was trying to shield the culprits. “Instead of showing sympathy with the bruised pride and dignity of Kashmiris, whose daughters have been raped, murdered and mutilated, the puppet authorities have engaged its police and bureaucratic machinery to muzzle the voice of people,” he deplored.

Shahnawaz Khan called upon the international community to play its role to stop India from committing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir
