Kashmiri delegation meets HR bodies in Geneva
Geneva, March 10: In Geneva, a Kashmiri delegation met the representatives of different human rights organisations and discussed with them the latest situation of Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation said that India had unleashed a rein of terror to suppress Kashmiris’ liberation movement.
A Kashmiri delegation headed by Altaf Hussain Wani, leader of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, met representatives of different human rights organisation, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, United Nations Watch and Special Assistant to Special Rapporteur on Torture, here at Geneva at the side lines of 13th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation apprised them of the human rights situation in occupied Kashmir. The representatives were told that Indian troops were committing the worst kind of human rights violations including molestation, torture, custodial killings and disappearances.
The delegation also presented human rights report 2009 to the United Nations High Commissioner on Human Rights Madam Pillay. The delegation includes Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, Madam Shamima Shawl and Sardar Amjad Yousaf. Source KMS
