IC should take notice of Indian atrocities in Kashmir: Zulqarnain

Islamabad, Mar 10 (APP): President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Zulqarnain Khan has urged the International Community (IC) to take notice of the human rights violation by the troops in Indian Held Kashmir.

The AJK President said this while addressing the photo book launching ceremony “the life of Migrants in refugee camps in AJK composed by Senior Program Officer IKV Pax Christ (IPC) Marjan Lucas. He said, due to excessive state suppression millions of Kashmiris have left their birth place to get settled in various parts of world. Huge numbers of Kashmiris have been disappeared in IHK he said adding discovery mass graves in recent past tells the sorry tale of Indian state atrocities against innocent Kashmiris.

He said a serious and sincere dialogue is the only way to solve the issue of Kashmir in line with the aspirations Kashmiri people. Unfortunately a number of talks’ sessions were held between Indian and Pakistan during the past six decades but they could not yield result due to non serious approach of Indian authorities.

The Line of Control (LOC) is still recognized as ceasefire line by the United Nations but unfortunately the world body could play and effective role for permanent solution of Kashmir dispute.

He said that no independent observe including the Human rights organizations are allowed in the Held Kashmir to witness the fate of Kashmir people. The AJK President said thousands of innocent people have lost their lives in the land mining laid down by the Indian troops in the Held Kashmir which should be noticed by the champions of human rights world across. He said that “Migrated people are totally confused for their identity and they don’t know when they will go back to their homeland”. 

Senior Program Officer (IPC) Marjan Lucas speaking at the occasion said that she hope this launching of the book would encourage others to follow the suite.

She said that people do discuss Kashmir issue world across including Neitherland. “We think that without resolving Kashmir issue we can’t restore peace in the region”, she said. Marjan Lucas appreciated the book which highlighted the problems being faced by the Kashmiri refugees. Amna Farooq Shah Chairperson Mass Welfare Foundation also speaking at the occasion said, this photo-book is fruit of joint efforts by Mass Welfare Foundation and IKV Pax Christi, aiming to make the people in the camps be seen and heard world across. It also cites some rare information about the fate of Kashmir migrants in the camps.
