Handover accused driver: Police to Indian army

Srinagar, May 10: In Srinagar, local police has asked the Indian army authorities to hand over the driver who had deliberately run his vehicle over a civilain, Bashir Ahmed Sofi in Pampore on Friday. 
The station house officer, Khrew, Muhammad Yusuf, told Greater Kashmir, “We have identified the vehicle and the driver involved in the case.”
 He identified the accused driver as Budpa Durgee Naidu of  Indian armys 7 Madras regiment. “He was driving the vehicle (No. 03D-155163 X) and is posted in Uri. We’ve asked the army personnel to hand over the accused to us,” he added.  The officer, however, said that they would arrest the accused soon. source GK
